What our members say...

Kellie

Back in January of this year I made quite a significant decision. Recognising that I only have one chance with this body of mine I decided to really work hard at eating the right foods and scheduling in gym sessions throughout the week.  7 months on I can say that I am well pleased with the result of my hard work and diligence. To date I have lost 21kgs and am still working hard to lose more until I am at my goal weight.

What a journey the past couple of months have been. From the highs of seeing and feeling my body change to the lows of weeks where no weight came off at all and gym sessions seemed so hard. One thing I have learned so well is to enjoy life along the way. So many times I could have been down on myself for not going to the gym enough or eating that extra piece of chocolate, instead I chose to see this lack of motivation as a fuel to get me going again.

As members of Bounce we are all here for a reason. Whatever that reason is I encourage you to pursue it and finish strong. My motto and attitude to gym life and life in general is “Go hard or go home!”

So get going and achieve those goals!

I have always received such great support from Bounce. You guys see the potential and pull it out, love that!

I’m a professional music theatre performer and have danced, sung and acted 8 shows a week for over 10 years in Europe and Australia. Now in my mid 30s my body is slowing down and bad old habits have become health issues.

Since I have been working with John Osborne as my private trainer my core strength, body shape and ability to perform or work hard around the house or with the kids has gone from 0-100 in the best possible way: Fast and steady. John knows the muscles and their purpose like no other and I am grateful to put my physical fitness into his well educated hands.

He knows when to push me past my limits and when to assist the remediation and strengthening process. John, thanks for the pain free afternoons with my kids, for having a healthy mind in a healthy body and for creating new, better, healthier habits in my every days life.

It has been years since I’ve done any sort of exercise or sport, I have always been very competitive whether it was softball, netball or even a social hit of squash with a friend.

I joined “Bounce Squash & Fitness” March 2008 after having a short conversation saying that I wanted to loose a little weight, get fitter & improve my flexibility.

The hardest thing in the beginning was that first week, when you have been a couch potato for so many years. I was asked to return the second day to work out on the cardio equipment and then day three I was to learn my new exercise program aimed hopefully at returning the following week.

I am someone who needs to be pushed and so I was introduced to the “Group Personal Training”, twice a week under a fully qualified trainer I have done so much more than I had ever expected.

I now turn up not just for the classes but also to do my program so that I will achieve the goals we have set.

Unfortunately I may get an injury while going through my paces so it is imperative that I let my trainer know as they are always able to make the necessary changes to my program allowing me to continue my goal without causing additional strain/stress to the injured area.

I continue to push myself past my previous efforts nearly every time I hit the treadmill, bike or cross trainer. The bike is not my favourite exercise but I guess that was just another hurdle I needed to get over.

I have to say that if it wasn’t for all of the support and encouragement that I have received on a daily basis from trainers Kirsten, John & Kris I may not have stuck it out.

I did complain that I had only lost 3 ½kg so Kirsten suggested that I should start writing a daily food diary initially to document what I was eating and drinking and even though my diet isn’t totally bad I do have a sweet tooth. So the diary did highlight where I needed to make some changes. If food is a huge part of weight loss, I know that I must keep a strict control of what goes in and keep the exercise regime going.  The results will follow.

“Bounce Squash & Fitness” has been a great place to meet people who have similar goals. There are so many great regulars who I will cross paths with every time I go to workout.
